Our friend Maggie Smith Khun (check her out under @iamnotmaggie on IG) does live painting and we thought it would be rad to collab with her on something. We came up with the idea to perform “Sunlite” on her front porch while she painted our portraits. In getting ready for the jam we decided to revamp the tune with a vibe that was more organic. In rewriting the parts we focused on the electric guitar being a new theme and from there we just continued to embellish the vibe with an acoustic and snaps. Maggie had heard both versions and mentioned how much she liked the acoustic version, so we decided to track it. Once we were in the studio we added a few more pieces to the track, but made sure not to overdo it. We wanted to keep it close to the chill and natural sound we were chasing. We are very happy with it and hope it continues to push the message of “Sunlite” out into the world right now.
